Aims and Objectives

Aims and Objectives 2007/ 8

 

Curriculum.

  • To maintain high expectations in learning and teaching.
  • To enable our children to achieve their best through the continued development of Assessment for Learning.
  • Monitor progress closely to enable more personalised learning.
  • Target the development of Shape and Measure.
  • Target the development of punctuation and sentence structure across the school.
  • Continue to develop spelling strategies.
  • Target Writing development.
  • Art and Design.
  • To develop further the use of cross curricula projects to bring learning alive.
  • Ensure that progress in science is maintained.
  • Revalidate to Healthy school status.

 

Pupils

  • To motivate pupils, maintain high standards and expectations of behaviour and develop care of the school environment through the use of positive rewards, personal responsibility and role modelling.
  • Know and work towards personal targets
  • To continue promoting healthy life styles through :- Healthy Schools Standards, School Fruit and Veg., healthy tuck and school meals, walking to school and high quality P.E. Revalidate to healthy school scheme

 

Staff

  • Develop the capacity of the school through planned Continuing Professional Develop.
  • Revalidate to Investors in People    

 

Leadership and Management

  • To develop the capacity of the school through effective monitoring and evaluation of teaching, learning and ethos.
  • Develop distributed leadership throughout the school workforce.(set dates for leadership roles)
  • Develop CPD through Performance Management for all staff
  • To develop governor monitoring.(set dates)
  • To have a commonality of purpose. ( school motto)

Home/ school/ community links

  • Continue to develop effective forms of communication through the use of technologies, traditional letters and school newsletter, parent meetings and Parent Partnership.
  • Ensure there are effective Homework systems in place.eg the use of set books for work not sheets
  • To increase parental involvement in teaching and learning through use of workshops and other educational opportunities; such as Family Literacy and Numeracy.
  • Develop an extended school prospectus.
  • Further promote a positive attitude to the school and community through the media, sport and arts.

 

Buildings

  • Set up buildings working party.
  • Prepare for building works through surveying and planning permissions
  • Health and safety and fire regulations.
  • Have phase one of building plan underway (office and staff room)
